Glossy abelia

Notes : Genus of about 30 species. The fragrant flowers are borne from mid-summer to Autumn. The flowers are followed by showy red/brown bracts that last well into the Winter. Ideal for a sunny border. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil. It needs regular watering in dry areas and during long, dry spells. Prune lightly in late Winter or Spring to encourage new growth. Propagate by rooting greenwood cuttings in early Summer or semi-ripe cuttings in late Summer.
